The Tatra Museum’s main building brings together exhibitions on the history, ethnography and natural history of Zakopane, Podhale and the Tatras. It stands at ul. Krupówki 10, 34-500 Zakopane.
The building’s design has a local architectural story of its own: Stanisław Witkiewicz designed its elevation, while Franciszek Mączyński prepared the technical project. Construction took place from 1913 to 1922.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00–18:00, with last entry at 17:15, and closed Monday and Tuesday. A normal ticket covering permanent and temporary exhibitions costs 34 zł; a reduced ticket costs 17 zł.
Permanent-exhibition-only tickets cost 26 zł and 13 zł, respectively. Thursday is the free-admission day for permanent exhibitions. The museum does not sell tickets online or take reservations for visits without a guide.

Willa Oksza and Zakopane-style art
Willa Oksza is the Tatra Museum’s Gallery of 20th-Century Art, at Hr. Władysława Zamoyskiego 25, 34-500 Zakopane. It offers an art-focused counterpart to the main museum’s regional collections.
Opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 9:00–17:00, and Friday and Saturday, 11:00–19:00. The gallery is closed Monday, and last entry is half an hour before closing. A normal ticket for the temporary exhibition costs 24 zł; a reduced ticket costs 12 zł.
For another look at Zakopane’s architectural heritage, Villa Koliba at ul. Kościeliska 18 is the Museum of Zakopane Style and the first building erected to Stanisław Witkiewicz’s Zakopane Style design. The historic villa Willa Pod Jedlami in Zakopane is another local landmark to add to a town itinerary.

Władysław Hasior Gallery
The Władysław Hasior Gallery is a Tatra Museum branch at ul. Jagiellońska 18b, where works by Władysław Hasior are displayed. Its focus makes it a distinct stop from the regional-history collections at the main museum.
If you’re arranging several town stops in one day, the gallery can sit alongside other cultural visits in a one-day Zakopane route. Check the Tatra Museum’s official site for the gallery’s visitor details before planning around it.
